Choosing a look
Three decisions do most of the work
The pattern. Herringbone locks together best under cars and reads as busy up close. A running pattern is calm and quick to lay. Versailles, with its mix of sizes, suits travertine and older houses.
The border. A row of darker units along the edge frames the whole surface and hides small cuts. It is the cheapest detail that changes the look the most.
The color. Pick it against the house, the roof and the planting, not on its own. Light stone stays cooler and shows dirt; dark stone hides it and gets hot. The design rendering is the easiest way to see it in place.
